ON THE ROAD
 

THESE ARE SOME PHOTOS from my wanderings in Utah, Nevada and California, plus some portraits of Bay Area people I like. In my wanderings I ended up talking to a lot of guys like this one -- friendly people with time on their hands who hold forth in local bars. To the right of him, on the bar, is my road map and car keys. A great way to meet locals is to drive so far down back roads that you have to ask someone where the heck you are.
